Well my friends…..I am officially finished with the Ultimate Reset. It was a 21 day healthy, gentle cleanse that I am actually happy I did.
So, why did I do this?
I really just wanted to get rid of toxins, try something new, get away from processed foods and to be honest I wanted to see if I could do it. I have done so many workouts and have pushed myself in so many other ways that I wanted to push myself with my nutrition as well.
I have let food take over in the past. I am an emotional eater. It really does not take a lot for me to fall off the deep end and go all in on some ice cream and cookies. So for 21 days I focused on myself and my relationship with food.
What was this all about?
The Ultimate Reset came in a big box with a bunch of supplements to help with digestion and other various tasks that your body takes on. There was a schedule on when to eat and EXACTLY what to eat. I will say that made this a whole lot easier for me. It was much harder to fall off the wagon when I had everything laid out for me. It even came with grocery lists that told me exactly what to get from the store.
Can you workout?
Actually, no. Not like you may have been doing before anyway. This was a big one for me because I have been doing some intense workouts. When I joined in on this, I actually thought I could keep up with working out. HOWEVER, they do not recommend that. So, I did a 21 day yoga workout which I ended up LOVING. I learned to fall in love with yoga.
I did try to play in a soccer game one day and that was the WORST. I came home, exhausted, weak, headache and slept the rest of the day. My body was not prepared for that nor was I filled with the nutrition I needed to do that.
The BIG questions…. What were my results?
I lost 10.2 lbs. What I learned was that this was NOT about losing weight as much as it was about getting refreshed. You want to literally reset your body. I felt lighter, I cut my cravings, I didn’t use food as a crutch and instead used it to simply do what it is intended to do — nourish my body!
Did I like it?
I will say the first week was easier because I could still have animal products. By the second week, I started to get a little “hangry.” I was cravings foods that I was used to having before. The Ultimate Reset actually gives you a lot of food but it always what you want. (Basically there wasn’t any chocolate chip cookies or chips on the menu).
What I really LOVED was exploring new foods. I was not much of a vegetable eater before and because this forced me to go outside of my comfort zone, I tried all new foods and I LOVED them. I made amazing recipes that I was even able to share with the family.
Would I do it again?
During the Reset, I actually thought “oh no, I am never doing this again.” However, now looking back and how I feel now, I think I would do it again. I especially liked doing it with a friend and being in a support group.
Could you do this?
I don’t even know who you are and I am saying Yes.
Here is why: You can do anything. You, yourself, are a human being, a living person, that can do anything you put your mind to. Will it be easy? Nope. Will you struggle? Oh yea. Will you wonder why you signed up for this? Probably.
BUT – will you lose weight? YES. Will you feel refreshed? Yup. Will you be proud of yourself for sticking to something so incredible? Heck yea!
